The Top Ten Animation Companies in India

Technology development has prompted a number of low cost hubs with powerful computer animation platforms to emerge in Asia. India is fast becoming a preferred destination for Animation outsourcing and is steadily overtaking the traditional players in the field like Philippines, Korea & Taipei. Its boom time in the Indian animation industry, pegged at approximately US$ 300- $350 million in 2005. Cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram are fast emerging as the country’s major animation hubs. The big studios have set up world-class, state-of-the-art facilities equipped with hardware and software like SGI, 3DMax and SoftImage, SFX and processing motion capture facilities. India’s biggest advantages are its cost effectiveness and good quality. The total cost for making a full-length animated film in America is estimated to be US$100 million to US$175 million. On the other hand, in India, it can be made for US$15 million to US$25 million. According to NASSCOM, the animation sector grew by over 20% in 2004. (more…;)

What is the best mouse for a designer?

As a designer, you probably spend a lot of hours hoding on a mouse. It is definitly one of the tools you’ll use the most, so better have a good mouse to be more productive and avoid some potential health problems.

What are the characteristics of a good mouse?

Comfortable

You will hold your mouse for hours, everyday, so it should be very comfortable, fit in your hand well and not give you cramps.

Accurate

If you want to be accurate in your work, and as a designer you need to, you better have the right tool for that. Go for a laser or optical mouse for best accuracy.

Responsive

Ever had your cursor lagging when moving your mouse?

Functional

Not everybody likes to have too many buttons on his mouse, but having two buttons or more and a scroll button is quite good if you want to use shortcuts from your mouse and be more productive.

BMW Logo Design and History

BMW stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke or Bavarian Motor Company. The company was established in 1913 and based in Munich, Germany. It started out as an aero engine manufacturer, hence the company logo. The logo comprised of four quadrants of alternating white and blue color. It is a stylized representation of an airplane propeller spinning against the clear blue sky. The logo represents a white propeller blade against a blue sky. It reflects the origins of BMW as a maker of military aircraft engines during WWI. Also, white and blue are the traditional colors of Bavaria.

Sedikit tentang Soichiro Honda

“Sebuah kesuksesan dapat dihasilkan di atas 99 persen kegagalan,” demikian kata-kata bijak Soichiro Honda, lelaki kelahiran Desa Komyo, Prefektur Shizuoka, Jepang, tahun 1906. Kata-kata bijak itu bukan datang begitu saja. Kata-kata tersebut datang dari sebuah proses refleksi diri yang panjang dari anak seorang pandai besi. Honda bukan terlahir dari keluarga mapan atau berpendidikan tinggi, tetapi Honda datang dari keluarga yang hidup dengan ekonomi yang pas-pasan.

Kondisi itu tak membuatnya mati angin dan kehilangan harapan. Baginya mimpi kecil atau mimpi besar sama saja karena kedua-duanya tidak perlu bayar. Kenapa tidak mimpi setinggi langit sekalian, begitu mungkin cetus Honda dalam batinnya. (more…;)
