Design is Applied art

If so means that the same design with the art, the difference in the word ‘applied’. To qualify as an ‘applied’, means that design-oriented art that applies to public utility, not art that is only useful as an expression of its maker. The design must comply with objectivity, net of effect of subjectivity. Centered on engineering design problems, not on the desires and needs of the creators. Thus, the design emphasis is not on his work and is also not well on the side of the poster, but more care of his usefulness. In the end we enjoy the art of his work, and enjoy the design of its usefulness.

Net Subjectivity

In many instances, designers can function as a public-target-audience or consumer of the dilakukannnya program design. Here the designer can take a dual role, as well as makers of public targets. Good value subjectivity can arise when a designer takes the role of the public. Humanitarian values such as conscience, aspiration and creativity-can emerge and become the input to make the objective of the design process. Humanitarian values can be contributive to the quality design when the designer is actively involved in the dynamics of the public, attention to social issues, culture, education and other sectors. This humanitarian values can be a source of design innovation, so that design solutions are not only derived from the market tastes just dulls creativity.

Engineering Problems

The core of the program design is the engineering problems that must be beginning of the process of establishing the wealth of understanding on the problem. This is a contradiction with still many who believe that the core design is about the shape of the solution, so often feel compelled to immediately make a sketch and realize the visualization because it had had enough knowledge on the problem. Such conditions bring the designer into the sphere of art because it’s doing is jumping into the process of making the expression of the problem, without any further questioning about the identity problem. They are more concerned with the expression of a visual problem called artists are better suited than the designer.

Enjoying Usefulness

At the moment we enjoy a masterpiece of design, often without our conscious beings to ignore his work but more motivated by their utility. As Paul Rand said, “Is the Language of Graphic Design.” So, do not design the contents of the message, it is the language of the message transmitter; to note that the quality of language is also very well affect tersampaikannya message.
